In the emerging modern world, the strength of a country is determined by its mineral resources and nuclear weapons. In this post, we will look at some scientific information about uranium, which is used to make nuclear weapons. Uranium is obtained from the uranium mines on this earth through a mineral called uraninite. The naturally obtained uranium is divided into two types using a specific chemical method, which are 1. Uranium-238 (99.3%), 2. Uranium-235 (0.7%). Of the two types mentioned above, only uranium-235 (enriched uranium) is used to make nuclear weapons. Generally, at least 54 kg of uranium-235 is required to make a nuclear weapon. To meet this requirement, at least 10 tons of uraninite ore are required. This ore is sold in the international market for at least 3 crore rupees per kg. When we look at this calculation, it costs 30 thousand crores to extract 70 kg of (uranium-235). The uranium-235 (one kg) extracted in this way is equivalent to 2700 tons of coal. One kg (1kg) of uranium-235 has the potential to produce 2 crore 4 million units of electricity, therefore the value and strength of a country is directly or indirectly determined by chemistry!!
